When Nature’s Own wanted to reach pregnant women they wanted to go beyond the web, giving women something of value they could keep with them throughout pregnancy.
Approached by Cummins Nitro, Millipede developed the Pregnancy Partner, a downloadable widget that installs itself on the user’s computer, tracks their pregnancy and provides them with relevant and helpful information.
A seamless user experience
The Pregnancy Partner was built using Adobe AIR, enabling Millipede to capitalise on its Flash expertise and rapidly deliver a robust cross-platform widget.
Fluid, realistic animations of insect and plant life were created in house from Cummins Nitro’s amazing still creative, adding vibrancy and life to the user’s desktop.
Fresh content is pulled automatically from a web feed using RSS and all data is stored locally in a built in SQL database to allow seamless functionality on or offline.
Fresh content revealed every month
The result is a beautiful application that sits unobtrusively on the user’s desktop. With regular updates feeding in from Nature’s Own and luscious new animations revealed every month, the widget remains relevant and engaging throughout pregnancy.
