Partnering once again with our friends and instructional designers, DK2, we created a sequel to the Dingo Creek eLearning resource, this time focusing on the recovery process.
Using applicable curriculum frameworks as a basis, Dingo Creek II: The recovery engages primary and secondary age students in the emergency recovery process as it relates to communities that experience disasters, with a particular focus on the Australian environment and the impact of natural disasters on communities. Dingo Creek II: The recovery emphasises personal resilience to the effects of natural disaster, and presents recovery concepts from multiple perspectives and contexts within the community.
Dingo Creek II: The recovery examines multiple aspects of the recovery process, including physical infrastructure and the built environment, social and psychological contexts, the natural environment, and economic recovery. Students are charged with developing a recovery plan for the Dingo Creek community, taking into account short, medium and long term goals and priorities.
